Golden Triangle-The Essence of India

A nation of Contrast & Colors, pulsating with life in an area covering the size of Western Europe. Each part and region of this vast subcontinent has it’s own identity, languages & scripts, traditions and customs, costumes and eating habits.

It is the biggest democracy in the world, and one of the most ancient civilizations with a history of over 5000 years. Although to a first time visitor it may seem like a culture shock with so many people everywhere and the traffic giving way to cows, bullock-carts, camels etc, however at the end of their journey, a traveler will be able to distinguish their diversity and unique culture, religion and belief.

The geographical diversity is as different as it’s people – the highest mountain range of the world (Himalayas) in the north to the lowest cultivated land of Kuttanad (alt. 2 m below sea level in Kerala) and a long coastal line (approx 6000 kms). In the West of the country lies the Thar Desert in Rajasthan, a little south of it are the unique marshlands of Kutch, while in the east where the Ganges drains out into the sea, is the world’ s largest delta and a unique mangrove forest. Indian islands include the Andaman and Nicobar Islands in the Bay of Bengal and the Lakshadweep Islands in the Arabian Sea. These unique features mean that the country has a wide variety of flora, fauna and a climate that ranges from tropical to arctic.
